UPS
Definition
A UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) is a device that provides instant backup power when grid supply is lost, giving enough time for a generator to start or for systems to shut down safely.
Why it matters for your business
Without a UPS, a power cut — even one lasting a few seconds — can corrupt data, damage equipment from the voltage spike when power returns, and stop critical systems with no room to react.
