VLAN
Definition
A VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network) is a logically separate network within the same physical infrastructure. It lets you split traffic — guests, operations, and security cameras, for example — into segments isolated from each other, even though they share the same switches and cabling.
Why it matters for your business
VLAN segmentation is one of the best cost-to-benefit security measures available: if a device in one segment is compromised, the damage stays contained instead of spreading to the rest of the network.
