Jitter
Definition
Jitter is the variation in arrival time of data packets — not how long they take, but how consistent that time is. High jitter makes audio and video arrive unevenly, causing choppiness and distortion even when speed and average latency look fine.
Why it matters for your business
In video calls and VoIP, high jitter is the most common cause of 'robotic audio' or intermittent glitches that a standard speed test won't explain.
