Failover

Definition

Failover is the automatic mechanism that shifts traffic or operation from a primary system to a backup one when the primary fails, without requiring manual intervention.

Why it matters for your business

A well-configured failover is what separates an internet outage from a business outage: the end user shouldn't notice the switch if the system is designed properly.
