VPN
Definition
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) creates an encrypted tunnel between a device and the company network, enabling secure remote access to internal systems as if the user were physically connected to the local network.
Why it matters for your business
For remote work or external vendor access to internal systems, a well-configured VPN — ideally combined with MFA — is the minimum security baseline, not an optional extra.
