EDR
Definition
EDR (Endpoint Detection and Response) is a category of security software that continuously monitors laptops, servers, and other endpoints, detecting suspicious behavior — not just known viruses — and allowing a compromised device to be remotely contained or isolated.
Why it matters for your business
Traditional antivirus detects known threats; EDR detects anomalous behavior, which makes it far more effective against new or targeted attacks that don't have a recognizable signature yet.
