CloudMicrosoft 365
Managed email, collaboration, and identity
What it is
Microsoft 365 is Microsoft's productivity suite — Exchange Online (mail), Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive — integrated with Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) for identity management. Along with Google Workspace, it's the de facto standard for enterprise email and collaboration.
Under DITAP Cloud, we implement and manage M365 tenants as part of our SaaS platform deployment and business systems work.
When we recommend it
We recommend Microsoft 365 when:
- The client already runs on the Windows ecosystem and needs native integration with local or cloud Active Directory.
- Compliance or mail-retention requirements are covered more thoroughly by Microsoft Purview policies than by simpler alternatives.
- The organization needs multi-factor authentication (MFA) and centralized conditional-access policies across the whole team.
- The team already uses Teams or SharePoint and wants to consolidate identity, mail, and collaboration under one provider.
- The client needs mobile device management (MDM) integrated with the same identity provider, to enforce security policies on corporate laptops and phones.
How we implement it
Our implementation goes well beyond turning on licenses — it includes:
- Tenant configuration and hardening: conditional-access policies, mandatory MFA, and mail-security rules.
- Mailbox and data migration from the previous provider, planned to minimize disruption.
- Teams and SharePoint structure design (sites, permissions, retention) matched to how the client actually works, not the default template.
- Integration with local Active Directory via Entra Connect when the client keeps a hybrid infrastructure.
- Intune configuration for mobile device management and security-policy enforcement on corporate equipment.
Alternatives
M365 isn't the only productivity and email option we implement:
Google Workspace
simpler administration and generally lower per-user cost, with less enterprise compliance depth than M365 Purview.
Self-hosted mail and collaboration
more control and no recurring license cost, in exchange for taking on maintenance and security either client-side or with DITAP managing it.
Zoho Workplace
a cheaper SaaS option for small teams that don't need M365's compliance depth or its native Windows integration.
DITAP is not an official partner of this vendor and holds no certification or exclusive commercial agreement with it. This page describes our real implementation experience on client projects.
