What we recommend depending on your case:
- Remote site with no fiber available and no time to wait for a build-out. Starlink — operational within days, no civil works.
- Site with fiber already available, or civil works viable in the short term, with steady high traffic. Fiber — better stability and lower long-term recurring cost.
- Critical operation that can't tolerate connectivity drops. Both — fiber as the primary link, Starlink as automatic failover.
- Temporary site (construction, event, short-term project). Starlink — avoids investing in fixed infrastructure that won't be reused.
- Site with limited power generation (solar panels, small generator). Factor the Starlink equipment's draw into the total power budget before treating it as the only solution.
Combining fiber with Starlink as backup, when both are available, is usually the most resilient option — it's the multi-WAN architecture we integrate by default at critical sites, tested and documented before we hand the site over.
