Challenge
Several operating bases in high-altitude areas had no reliable way to get online: they relied on intermittent radio links or on someone traveling for hours to physically download data. That made remote monitoring of cameras and sensors impossible, and every incident was only discovered hours or days after it happened.
Approach
We assessed each base individually — altitude, weather, line of sight and operational criticality — to decide where a satellite link solved the problem and where a second, redundant provider was needed. We designed the network around equipment that could withstand dust, vibration and sub-zero temperatures.
Solution
We deployed satellite terminals with automatic failover at each base, ruggedized networks for cameras and sensors, and a centralized monitoring center receiving feeds from every location. When one link goes down, the system switches to the backup with no manual intervention.
