Challenge

The hotel faced recurring guest complaints about slow, unstable WiFi, especially in upper-floor rooms and the outdoor garden where breakfast is served. The original network had been patched together with consumer routers added year after year, with no coverage design and no separation between guest and hotel operational traffic.

Approach

We ran a full property site survey to map dead zones and interference before touching a single piece of equipment. Using that map, we designed access point placement, defined separate VLANs for guests, operations and cameras, and planned a phased migration to avoid disrupting peak season.

Solution

We replaced the consumer routers with enterprise-grade access points offering seamless roaming between floors and the garden, added a backup link so the hotel no longer depends on a single ISP, and activated a branded welcome portal. The entire rollout happened during low-traffic hours, with zero days of WiFi downtime.

In the client's words

We stopped getting emails from guests about the WiFi. It doesn't even come up in satisfaction surveys anymore.
